Before the baby is born the parents start getting toys either as a gift or you yourself will buy for you would be child. There are toys for new born to toddlers and small kids. When you purchase toys for your baby the first criteria to be kept in mind is the skills of the baby. If it a small baby developing its skills the toys that can stimulate further development of the senses should be bought.
The toy should not be too big or too small for the baby. But it should be durable to bear banging, dropping, throwing, biting and sucking at least a year. For a very small child or first few years avoid those toys that have sharp edges, glass parts or toxic paints. Toys with too long strings and ribbon should not be given to the baby, it may accidently strangle her.
Buy simple toys with fewer parts and pieces, they will last longer and safe for your baby. Don’t clutter your baby room with lot of toys rather go for toys that are diverse in color, shape, sound and function. Moreover search for the toys that can excite baby’s senses of touch, sound, taste, smell and even touch.
